In May 2019, the Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production Centre carried out another informational workshop “RECP Course Integration into University Curriculum. Benefits and Opportunities”, this time on May 15th in Lviv, for University teachers. The National Forestry and Wood-Technology University of Ukraine (NFWTU) provided support to the event and hosted it in its spacious conference hall. The workshop gathered in one place teaching staff of the following educational institutions, namely National Forestry and Wood-Technology University of Ukraine, National University “Lvivska Politechnika”, Lviv National Agrarian University, Stepan Gzhytskyi National University of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnologies (Lviv), Lviv State University of Life Safety. The representatives of Lviv Oblast Administration (Lviv ODA) showed interest towards informational event and attended it too.
On May 7th, 2019, the Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production Centre carried out an informational seminar “RECP Implementation Advantages in National Industry”. This time, the seminar took place in the town of Novohrad-Volynskyi (Zhytomyr oblast) with the support of Local Municipal Council. The event attended entrepreneurs, industrial representatives and Municipal Council officials invited in advance.
On 12 April 2019, “Parkovy” Congress and Exhibition Centre in Kyiv hosted the Vth Energy Efficiency Forum “Amalgamated Territorial Communities, Government, Business: Transparent Investment Model” organized by the State Agency for Energy Efficiency of Ukraine (SAEE). This year, the forum attendees, and these were representatives from Amalgamated Territorial Communities (ATC), ministries and governmental institutions, gathered to discuss modern financial mechanisms on improving energy efficiency in Ukraine. Three topical sections within Forum Agenda resulted in fruitful discussions. The Agency and invited experts managed in details talk about incentive plans to support ATCs, industrial enterprises and state institutions in implementing energy efficiency.
On April 3rd, 2019, Igor Sikorsky KPI became the venue for the Advisory Board meeting – UNIDO project “Promoting the Adaptation and Adoption of Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) through the Establishment and Operation of a Cleaner Production Centre (CPC) in Ukraine”. The event gathered various governmental officials, companies, international organizations, financial institutions (over 30 participants). Branko Dunić, UNIDO Chief Technical Adviser, joined the meeting and delivered a welcome speech.
This year the meeting format differed from the previous ones as it split the meeting into two sessions. One session drew attention to the RECPC Director’s presentation about the achievements the Centre gained last year, while the second session offered interactive group discussions.
This year the Steering Committee of the UNIDO Project “Promoting the Adaptation and Adoption of Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) through the Establishment and Operation of a Cleaner Production Centre (CPC) in Ukraine” was convened on March 6 and hosted by Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
The Project Steering Committee has been for years following the typical agenda covering 2 key issues – highlighting the results of the previous year and approving the working plan for the current year. The SC meeting in 2019 offered a third issue and that was a PPT presentation on eco-industrial parks (EIP) development. A joint seminar of the RECP Centre and JSB ‘UkrGasBank’ took place on December 22, 2018.
The bank officers familiarized RECPC experts with their own credit programs elaborated for industrial companies and focused on investments in energy efficiency projects enhancing and reducing resource consumption. Read More
For the third consecutive year, the Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production Centre organizes its annual conference within UNIDO project framework on December, 14th. This year the conference dubbed ‘ENHANCING INDUSTRIAL RESOURCE EFFICIENCY. BEST NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL PRACTICES 2018’ has brought together representatives from all six target regions.
The conference topics were mainly focused on demonstrating modern approaches to resource efficiency and energy saving in national industry and worldwide, based on best practices accumulated in the Centre’s portfolio. On December 5, 2018, the schoolchildren of 11th grades at the Public Institution Nicopol Secondary School for Grades I-III with Advanced Curriculum of Natural sciences and Mathematics No. 26

The training “Robotics” under the project “PROMETHE-U.S.” was held on November, 30 in Sofiivka-Borshchagivska Secondary school.
Kateryna Romanova, the Project manager, started the training with informing the schoolchildren about engineering career and its benefits.
The first training in energy saving launched the start of the project “PROMETHE-U.S. – Promoting Environmental and Technical Higher Education” on November 19, 2018. It took place in Nikopol where 62 schoolchildren from 2 secondary schools (№ 6 and № 26) became the main target audience.
