Incorporating gender issues into a company’s activity can serve a powerful tool for doing business.
Supporting gender equality is the right way to help companies, businesses and communities grow and succeed.
For many years now, the Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production Centre (the Centre) has supported gender equality, and we have something to be proud of.
The share of women makes up 47% in the overall staff of the Centre. In total, the Centre employs 12 technical experts (4 women vs. 8 men) and 7 administration staff (5 women vs. 2 men). All technical experts in the Centre, regardless of gender have equal access to technical activities, i.e. conducting both preliminary and in-depth assessments at industrial enterprises, reporting, drafting feasibility studies supplemented with technical measures focused on enhancing resource efficiency, introducing circular economy and environmental protection models.
The Centre’s women experts have equal rights and opportunities to develop their technical skills, they keep in touch with male colleagues and share experience with them – all this helps cooperate effectively with enterprises, perform complex tasks and face the challenges in everyday work. In addition, the Center organizes and delivers technical trainings and learning courses on RECP. Women and men have equal access to participate in them.
Since 2013, 325 trainees in total (114 women included) have been trained in RECP methodology and have become RECP experts.
Men and women should have equal opportunities, rights and commitments in all spheres of our life. This allows them make equal contribution to economic, political, social and cultural development of the country and worldwide.
