RECP CLUBS MEETINGS IN 2020

The RECP Clubs in Poltava and Khmelnytskyi regions of Ukraine were established within the EU4Environment Programme, namely its component Circular Economy and New Growth Opportunities.

20 enterprises became the Clubs members and they were offered get familiar with RECP concept and its in-plant implementation. The fundamental target of the Clubs activities is reducing environmental impact and improving social and economic life not only for companies, but also for the communities the production facilities are located in.

Since December 2019, the RECP Centre’s experts has been delivering training modules was to the RECP Club participants. These modules covered the following topics: the company’s environmental and economic profile, energy and water consumption, wastewater, raw materials and waste, chemicals, hazardous waste and emissions, ‘Action plan’. The company representatives had an opportunity to personally talk to the experts, get an individual consultancy as well as establish contacts for further cooperation.

However, since March 2020, because of COVID-19 pandemic the format of face-to-face RECP Club meetings changed into remote mode sessions. For those businesses unable to join the online meetings, the training materials and topical publications were disseminated via email, and the access was provided for free individual online consultations with RECP Centre experts.

By now, the companies have moved on to a stage of implementing a self-assessment tool and working out the ‘Action Plan’. This phase is particularly important as it covers the following topics: identifying and selecting feasible options, calculating costs, payback period, resource savings and environmental impact.

The online meeting agenda provides for a series of experts visits to each enterprise aiming to perform instrumental measurements and provide advice on technical and organizational options implementation.
