Today, being the leading provider of RECP services to companies and the national driver of promoting and implementing RECP in Ukraine (including awareness-raising and national capacity building) the RECPC is recognized for its high technical expertise, reliability and effectiveness in executing international and national technical RECP related cooperation projects.
Having started operations in 2013, the RECPC has provided technical support to more than 170 Ukrainian companies and helped them to improve their resource efficiency and environmental performance. It has 4 offices (central and 3 regional) that enable it to engage with companies and other stakeholders in the different regions of Ukraine.
Despite its strong links to the national industry, RECPC’s primary sources of income remain international technical cooperation projects rather than the income generated from selling services directly to the private sector (even though it is the primary beneficiary of mentioned international projects). The RECPC’s proven capacity to successfully (apply for and) implement international donor projects ensures financial and institutional stability in the mid-term, latter also requires responding adequately to stakeholders’ demands, ensuring continuous skills development and providing cutting-edge approaches to environmentally sound industry development.
At present, important stakeholders are increasingly requesting assistance in the fields of circular economy (including RECP component), industrial digitalization, decoupling, decarbonization, industry 4.0, etc. Therefore, the RECPC should develop new expertise and new competencies (including policy advice) that will help not only keep existing but also create new (from the private sector and national government) revenue streams while fulfilling RECPC’s core objective of supporting “green” industrial development.
