Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production

The resource efficient and cleaner production concept is one of the key tools for implementing circular economy, as proposed by UNIDO and UNEP in 1989. The key idea lies in converting resources, namely, water, materials, energy into product outputs as efficiently as possible, while minimizing the generation of waste, emissions and wastewater. This provides companies with additional economic benefits and reduces their environmental footprint.
