Interfax-Ukraine presented the ‘Guide to Industrial Resource Efficiency
Resource efficient economy scaling up has become a trend for developed countries. The European Commission launched its ‘Roadmap to a Resource-Efficient Europe’ and the ‘Action Plan for the Circular Economy’ in 2015. Thus, average resource productivity in Europe in the period 2000-2016 showed 1,5 times increase – from 1.47 to 2.08 euros/kg.
This has been the topic subject of today’s press-conference organized within the ‘Platform for Green Economy Growth’ participants – Ihor Shylovych, Director of the Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production Centre, Viacheslav Potapenko, Director of the Institute of Green Economy, Andrii Vorfolomeiev, Deputy National Coordinator for Demonstration RECP Component under ‘Greening Economies in the European Union’s Eastern Neighbourhood’ Programme (EaP GREEN), Taras Sakalosh, Director Executive of the Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production Centre.
The press-conference presented the ‘Guide to Industrial Resource Efficiency‘. Designed within the framework of ‘Platform for Green Economy Growth’ the guide mostly aimed on how to solve the problem of limited access to new technologies and modern methods of improving productions – the problem is relevant for most Ukrainian enterprises. This publishing material overarches methods and tools that help reduce energy intensity in industry by implementing even low-cost measures. Apart from the above-listed, the guide suggests its readers the case studies of resource efficient options implemented at national companies.
