Energy Saving and Resource Efficient Technologies in Ukrainian Processing and Agro Industries. Accomplishments and Outlooks
10th October, 2019 updated the RECP Centre’s calendar history by adding another information event and that was a day of the Panel discussion among agricultural players in the national economy. The conference hall located at the Ukrainian League of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs could barely accommodate over 50 participants eager to join the discussion on energy saving and resource efficiency in processing and agro sectors.
Andrii Vorfolomeiev, the RECP Centre’s Director started his presentation with general RECP issues, i.e., RECP concept, UNIDO project in Ukraine, RECP Centre’s basic activities, etc. In addition, he made an announcement about launching a new project EU4Environment which is also executed by the Centre. The general objective of EU4Environment is to help the partner countries preserve their natural capital and increase people’s environmental well-being by supporting environment-related action, demonstrating and unlocking opportunities for greener growth, and setting mechanisms to better manage environmental risks and impacts.
In fulfilling the agenda, all the speakers made their presentations and delivered the most essential information about their companies, key activity areas, success in energy and resource efficiency. However, the employees of the JSC ‘Ukrgasbank’ offered another material, and that was about financial tools that might help companies in implementing energy efficient projects at agricultural companies, farms, etc.
Oleksii Tchaikovskii and Valerii Pavshuk also presented the RECPC team and shared their own expertise within the Centre’s activities. The Bila Tserkva National Agrarian University delegated Tetiana Hrabovska to the Panel discussion, and she delivered her own insight in the Chemical Leasing integration as a subject into the University curriculum.
The workshop was carried out within the framework of UNIDO Project “Promoting the Adaptation and Adoption of Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) through the Establishment and Operation of a Cleaner Production Centre (CPC) in Ukraine”.
