Sound Chemicals Management Guidelines

The Guidlines on Sound Chemicals Management (SCM) offers detailed information on the SCM concept, SDGs, the Goals related to safe chemicals management; conventions, international legislation, acts and regulations on handling the chemicals signed and ratified by Ukraine and an overview of the national chemical industry status quo.

The authors of the Guidelines consider SCM wide implementation in Ukrainian industries aiming to mitigate harmful environmental impact, reduce inefficient chemicals consumption, protecting the health of people and overall life on the Earth are to be the key challenges throuought the whole publication. A strong emphasis is made on implementing a Chemical Leasing innovative business model and wide use of green chemistry.

The publication has been designed for chemical-related and processing industries.

This material has been prepared within the framework of the Project “Promoting the Adaptation and Adoption of Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) through the Establishment and Operation of a Cleaner Production Centre (CPC) in Ukraine”. The Project is implemented in Ukraine by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the national Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production Centre (RECPC). The Governments of Switzerland and the Republic of Austria are the donors of the Project.
