The traditional meeting of the RECP Centre and all stakeholders on the industrial development projects implementation in Ukraine took place online on March 9, 2023.
The RECP Centre’s technical experts Ella Dmytrychenkova and Tetiana Dehodia visited Vienna (Austria) on February 21-24, 2023 to participate in the training on eco-industrial parks tools “Lessons Learned and Way Forward”. The Vienna International Centre became the venue for the training. The Agenda was tailored to listen to a number of speeches delivered by the representatives of Austria and speakers from Ukraine, as well as direct visits to industrial parks in Austria and Poland. The training was initiated by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) with the support of the Swiss government and within the framework of the Global Eco-Industrial Parks Programme (GEIPP).
Due to the RF’s full-scale invasion into Ukraine, which began a year ago on February 24, 2022, the Ukrainian economy suffered the largest losses since independence because of significant destruction of its critical infrastructure. At the same time, the territory of Ukraine suffers from additional environmental impacts every day, despite the reduction of industrial emissions. Ukrainian businesses are struggling to find ways to restore their capacities and create safe working conditions to meet the population’s demand for critical goods and services. All this has had a significant impact on the consciousness of Ukrainians, transforming their value system, changing assessment of the past, and clearly defining the priorities for the future.
The Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production Centre invites the relocated national manufacturing enterprises to join an online survey!
The EU-funded EU4Environment Programme is expanding its activities and supports the green industry recovery and relocation of Ukrainian enterprises!
A greener industrial sector is crucial for the development and resilience of our economies and societies. Enhancing industry’s resource, energy and carbon productivity is particularly significant in the case of Ukraine, where the current context demands an approach focused on the resilience, recovery and reconstruction of industries. Taking stock of this year’s challenges stemming from the aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine, as well as of the support provided by the European Union (EU), including through the EU4Environment programme, was in the focus of the annual national conference on circular economy (15 December 2022).
A series of three trainings became the logical continuation of the online information event as of October 20, 2022 (“Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) and its benefits for manufacturing enterprises”). The trainings were united not only by the generic title “Deep dive into PEF”, but also by the core topic – all of them were focused on studying the methodologies of product environmental footprint assessment and product life cycle analysis. Each three-hour training had its own title and covered a certain amount of quite complex and somewhat new material for Ukrainian specialists. All trainings were held online on the Zoom platform.
