The RECP Centre announces a call for small and medium-sized enterprises to participate in the pilot Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) assessment within the framework of the EU-funded EU4Environment Programme.
The enterpises participating in the pilot project will be able to:
– Open the way to EU markets;
– Find out opportunities to reduce the product environmental footprint;
– Test PEF methodology at their enterprises;
– Apply international expertise;
– Improve their own supply chain and use of resources;
– Save money and production resources;
– Improve the company image and meet modern requirements of environmentally responsible buyers;
– Change the production business strategy.

Initiated with an online event (20 October 2022) on the Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) methodology and its benefits for manufacturing enterprises, the conversation on green and sustainable production has quickly gained traction among Ukrainian manufacturers and producers. This is because now, more than ever, green initiatives and sound methodologies are needed to enable enterprises to effectively improve the sustainability of their supply chain and production processes. In this sense, a PEF study can provide valuable insights into the most impactful ingredients, processing steps, or life cycle stages of a product, making, therefore, the perfect starting point for the reduction of their environmental impact.

On 20 October 2022, between 14:00-17:00, stakeholders interested in or working on green economy, circular economy, resource efficient and cleaner production (RECP), and environmental protection are invited to an online event about the introduction of the Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) under the European Union’s Single Market for Green Product (SMGP) initiative.
The Fourth EU4Environment Regional Assembly gathered in Paris on 22 and 23 September 2022. The event was held in a hybrid format, so live communication took place in the International Energy Agency, and those who could not come in person joined the event via Zoom.
